The Nine Enneagram Types as Social Media Influencers
Whether you’re the type or person to rally for change, spread wanderlust or share cute pet pics, your unique personality shapes the way you show up and inspire others online. From the grounded perfectionism of a One to the free-spirited adventurism of a Seven, the Enneagram reveals insights into your ideal social media influencer style.
Are you considering a career in online influencing or just curious what type of influencer role would fit you the best? Here’s what type of influencer you might be, based on your Enneagram type!
Type 1: The Health and Wellness Influencer
Enneagram Ones have strong values, and this shows up in how they interact on social media. As a health and wellness influencer, the Type One shares how-to guides and tips for self-improvement, while encouraging their followers to make positive changes in their lives. Their perfectionism may show up in a perfectly curated feed with high-quality images and well-thought-out captions. This influencer may also use their platform to rally followers around causes and petitions for change.
Type 2: The Family Influencer
The Enneagram Two is the quintessential mom or dad influencer, sharing advice and ideas for families, while trying to build genuine relationships with their followers. They’re known for always responding to comments and messages with warmth and encouragement, and collaborating with other family influencers to create a sense of community. The service-oriented Type Two shares personal stories, live Q&As, inspiring quotes and ways to support others in need.
Type 3: The Coach or Motivational Speaker
The Type Three influencer is your go-to source for inspiration, sharing their personal goals and achievements and modeling an aspirational lifestyle that showcases their success. The ambitious Three isn’t just influencing for fun; they’re analytics-driven, constantly working to optimize their content, expand sponsorships and grow their follower base. They share posts about self-improvement, career tips, goal setting and a peek into their life – but just enough to be relatable without being too revealing.
Type 4: The Art or Poetry Influencer
The Enneagram Four influencer focuses on curating a page around their niche creative interests. Whether it's art, poetry or music, their feed is full of deeply personal and creative content that reflects their unique identity. They won’t shy away from sharing their personal struggles and triumphs, and their followers likely feel a genuine, emotional connection to them because of this. As an influencer, the Four may struggle with the pressure to create an online brand, preferring instead to use their page as a form of authentic expression.
Type 5: The Gaming Influencer
As a gaming influencer, the Type Five is all about informational and educational content. They’ll share game reviews and recommendations, walkthroughs and tutorials and gear reviews. They’ve established their page as an expert source on the topics they cover, and they prefer to be mostly anonymous, focusing on the information rather than talking about themselves. Their feed is straightforward and uncluttered, with a focus on substance over style.
Type 6: The Local Influencer
Whether they manage a city Instagram page or community forum, the community-minded Six focuses on local news, how to get involved and what to do in the area, while also highlighting safety tips and how to manage uncertainties like natural disasters or supply shortages. If disaster strikes, they’re the page people go to first for how to give or receive help. Ultimately, they want to create a safe and supportive online community where people can get the information they need.
Type 7: The Travel Influencer
From spontaneous live streams of real-world experience to travel hacks, the Enneagram Seven influencer is all about fun and adventure. This influencer focuses on new experiences and fun-filled activities. Their posts and videos are upbeat and lively, and they love to engage with their followers. They’re likely to cover a variety of topics and avoid being too scheduled or repetitive. Just like life, social media should be fun!
Type 8: The Activist
The Enneagram Eight influencer is all about empowering people to make a difference. They won’t shy away from sharing controversial topics and strong opinions and are open to debates and discussions with their followers. Eights feel protective over people they see as more vulnerable than themselves, so this influencer will also share advice about how to deal with adversity, protect oneself from being taken advantage of and how to help others in need.
Type 9: The Pet Influencer
The Enneagram Nine influencer probably isn’t that interested in being the star of their own social media show – but they’ll definitely make an account for their pet. Who doesn’t love cute puppy videos? The Type Nine influencer shares adorable animals, nature walks, silly memes, animal activism and the occasional inspiring quote. They’re the most likely to shock their friends by casually bringing up the fact that their dog is actually a viral sensation on TikTok.
